Senior Lecturer/Lecturer in English Language Education

Applications are invited for appointment as Senior Lecturer/Lecturer in English Language Education in the Faculty of Education (Ref.: 530810), to commence on September 1, 2025 or as soon as possible thereafter, on a three-year fixed-term basis.

Applicants should possess a Master’s degree or above in English Language Education or a related discipline, a professional teaching qualification recognized and accredited in Hong Kong, and ideally at least 5 years’ experience teaching English as a Second Language (ESL). Those with in-depth knowledge of the local context and primary education are preferred. Applicants with strong academic background, proven ability for sustained high-quality teaching, and demonstrated capabilities in leading curriculum development and pedagogical innovation may be considered for appointment as Senior Lecturer.

The appointee will undertake substantial teaching responsibilities at undergraduate and postgraduate levels, including courses related to primary/secondary English language teaching, second language acquisition, bilingual education, genre-based pedagogies, online teaching, pedagogical grammar, and/or discourse analysis, among others. They will also be expected to supervise postgraduate student projects, conduct school practicum supervision and perform administrative duties as appropriate.

A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits. At current rates, salaries tax does not exceed 15% of gross income. The appointment will attract a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 15% of basic salary. Housing benefits will be provided for appointment as Senior Lecturer as applicable.
