Āu Mahi | What You Will Do

Are you passionate about teaching and empowering the next generation of leaders? We have an exciting opportunity for a Pūkenga | Lecturer (Teaching and Administration) to join UC's Engineering and Technology Management Programmes. This role focuses on teaching, developing innovative pedagogy, and fostering student success via the Tuihono UC | UC Online platform.

As a Pūkenga, you will lead engaging, dynamic online learning experiences, creating a strong sense of connection and community for students. You will champion flexible, effective course delivery while continuously enhancing your teaching practices to meet the evolving needs of online learners.

Please note this position is not a remote working role, you will be based on our Ilam, Christchurch campus.

Mōu | Who You Are

You will have expertise and teaching experience in engineering management or technology management, informed by recent developments in research / scholarship / creative work, as well as:

  • A Master’s degree in an area relating to Engineering Management, Technology Management or Product Management, along with relevant industry or teaching experience
  • A PhD in a relevant field, would be an advantage
  • Demonstrated understanding of, and experience in, delivering effective teaching methods that enable a wide range of learners to succeed
  • Evidence of reflective learning and continuous professional development
  • A willingness to learn about bicultural and multicultural issues in Aotearoa New Zealand society, including a commitment to the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi | The Treaty of Waitangi, and display a willingness to engage professionally with equity and diversity.

Mahi Ngātahi | Who You Will Work With

You will work collaboratively with both Tuihono UC|UC Online and Te Kaupeka Pūhanga | Faculty of Engineering.

The Tuihono UC|UC Online team has grown and developed over recent years to allow a wide variety of courses previously only available on campus. The online learning team provide high-quality online courses for students, professionals, and lifelong learners.

The salary range for this position on the Lecturer (Teaching and Administration) salary scale is NZ$66,874 - $117,730.
