University of Bath has an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and committed operations supervisor to join our city-based accommodation team. This permanent position, known internally as Building Coordinator, is ideally suited to someone with an administrative and customer service background who wants to advance their career in a busy and supportive workplace.

The Building Coordinator will join the Residence Life Operations team full-time (36.5 hours) and provide leadership to cleaning staff to ensure the provision of high-quality services.

Shifts are 5 days out of 7, therefore some weekend working is expected on a rota basis (but this is mainly during the summer months). There is variety in the role as during summer when students leave, our student accommodation transforms into a commercial business with summer schools, conferences and visitors to Bath enjoying our rooms and facilities.

Working hours are 9 am-5.20 pm.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Operational day-to-day running of a section of university accommodation.
  • Management of the staffing therein to achieve an effective and efficient service for the customers.
  • Conducting regular 1-1 and team meetings with domestic assistants/cleaners and porter staff
  • Completing accommodation checks
  • Responding to customer feedback on our IT systems
  • Reporting maintenance issues
  • Planning and achieving turnaround of accommodation, for example preparing rooms for student intake.
  • Stock ordering and management.

Ideally, our candidates will demonstrate:

  • A desire to deliver high standards of service.
  • Ability to lead and motivate a team.
  • Ability to be adaptable and flexible.
  • Experience in an administrative role.
  • Experience in a customer-focused role.
  • Experience in stock management.

For an informal discussion, please contact Daniel Luck djl70@bath.ac.uk or Anna Milczarek adm32@bath.ac.uk .

The role is ideal for those who enjoy variety, problem solving and meeting new students and our summer guests. Additional benefits to the list below include subsidised gym membership, flexible working options, career development courses & apprenticeships and wellness events and support. The opportunity to build staff relationships through social events and networking groups is also available.

This role offers a Campus Services New Starter bonus*. In addition to the great benefits Campus Services’ offers, we can offer you a £1,000 bonus. This is payable the month after successfully passing your six months’ probation.

This role is also eligible for the Campus Services Refer a Friend bonus*. If a University staff member has ‘referred’ you to apply for this vacancy they may be eligible for a bonus. Please ensure when applying you select ‘Campus Services Employee Referral’  when answering the question ‘Where did you learn of this job?' and email campusserviceshr@bath.ac.uk the name of the person who referred you.

*Both bonuses are subject to terms and conditions, please contact campusserviceshr@bath.ac.uk if you have any questions regarding them.
