The Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering within the School of Computing, Engineering and Built Environment, has an excellent track record in funded and impactful research projects. Building on this successful track record, the department wishes to appoint a Research Assistant to be part of a vibrant team contributing to an upcoming exciting project funded by the UKRI to develop novel methods for Robust Volt/VAr control for modern power distribution networks.
The main purpose of the role is to contribute to the delivery of a fully funded project which aims to develop novel methods for voltage regulation of modern power distribution networks which have appreciable renewable energy integration. The position involves undertaking full time research in the area of electrical power distribution optimal operation and control.

We are seeking a research assistant who holds a master’s level qualification in Electrical Engineering with a focus in power systems. They must be eligible to meet the academic requirement to register for a PhD at Glasgow Caledonian University. They must be confident in their own abilities, be eager to take initiative and work independently as well as part of a team.
