About the role:
The National Institute for Health and Care Research (NIHR) Research Support Service (RSS) seeks an enthusiastic administrative professional to join our team at Imperial College London and Partners. This role is crucial in supporting the day-to-day operations of the RSS, reporting directly to the Central Coordinator and the RSS Operations team.
As our Central Administrator, you'll be at the heart of a collaborative network uniting four world-class London universities: Imperial College London, King's College London, Queen Mary University of London, and University College London, to help researchers secure vital funding and develop transformative health and care research projects.
This role is an ideal place to start if you are interested in providing research support within a multi-institutional collaborative environment.
What you would be doing:
You will be:
- The primary point of contact for service users, potential clients, and staff across the four partner institutions
- Supporting the day-to-day administrative functions of the service (e.g. fielding email enquiries, maintaining spreadsheets, managing the SharePoint and Microsoft Bookings pages, facilitating cross-institutional working groups and team meetings)
- Updating and maintaining client records in the RSS Database and generating reports
- Assisting in the organisation and execution of internal and external events and training sessions

- Someone with strong attention to detail, a passion for supporting research, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced setting
- A motivated, well-organised person
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
- Someone who can work effectively as part of a team as well as alone
- Strong administration skills with suitable experience
- Proficiency with digital tools (Microsoft 365, databases, CRM systems)
- An understanding and working knowledge of data protection and experience of working within a code of confidentiality
