Digital Development Manager (SITS)

Canterbury Christ Church is seeking a self-motivated, experienced SITS technical manager to lead and manage a mid-sized professional team within a cloud based Tribal SITS and associated technologies framework.

You will lead the SITS development and test teams (directly line managing two roles) to ensure delivery of the best quality design and optimised solutions based on requirements elicited from the business, prioritising resource and demand across project and operational activities.

This role has a key responsibility to build and maintain stakeholder relationships (especially Registry) within the University as well as with our software supplier Tribal.

This role is a ‘hands on’ technical role, with a hybrid working pattern.

We need someone who can:

  • Show a proven technical background working with Tribal SITS in a direct people management or leadership role.
  • Be responsible and accountable for the successful running of the day to day SITS technical operational service.
  • Communicate effectively with technical and business stakeholders building, maintaining relations across the University especially with Registry, Admissions, Finance and IT functions.
  • Co-ordinate and plan the workload of the development and test teams, working with the relevant parties to deliver high quality IT systems and applications in line with the portfolio of projects and agreed initiatives.
  • Lead a SITS Service Technical Design Authority (TDA) to review and enable the best approach and best practise to be undertaken in Solution Design.
  • Work with the Enterprise Architect to identify, interpret and translate SITS strategies to application design and development services.
  • Provide specialist professional advice and leadership; keep up-to-date with developments in the Tribal SITS community and technical landscape.
  • Manage the supplier relationship with Tribal SITS and other associated suppliers.
  • Work with key stakeholders, project managers and BAs to assess and refine draft business and functional requirements and specification.
  • Continually enhance system development and test standards, controls, technologies and delivery methods, to industry best practices.
  • Provide clear management to ensure effective and efficient third level support services are provided to high professional standards in addition to excellent customer care.
  • Be able to be ‘hands on’ technically.
  • Be confident and positive, with a degree or professional qualification.
  • Have a desire to add value, and to continually improve processes and the SITS Service.
