The Department of Architecture wishes to appoint an Assistant Professor in Sustainable Structures and Design. The successful candidate will be expected to take up appointment on 1 September 2025.

The Department has recently launched the exciting and interdisciplinary Master of Design (MDes) course, combining Architecture, Engineering and Materials Science and the role holder will teach the core curriculum in both the Architecture and the MDes Tripos, and supervise and examine MPhil and PhD postgraduate work.

The post holder will have a background in building structures, structural design in architecture or engineering and they will ideally have experience in teaching design as a subject to architects and/or engineers, enabling them to contribute meaningfully to studio teaching. Both professional accreditation and industry experience are desirable but not essential.

We are seeking candidates who have a record of, or clear potential for, high level research commensurate with their career. Candidates will have the ability or potential to undertake collaborative research and to secure external research and funding.

Candidates will hold undergraduate degree in Engineering and a doctoral degree in architecture, engineering or a related discipline, with FHEA accreditation and experience of curriculum development as desirable.
