About the Role

The School of Electronic Engineering and Computer Science is seeking a qMedia Studios Manager to oversee the operation and maintenance of its qMedia Studios. This includes managing equipment and facilities, designing audio engineering setups, and providing user training and support. The role involves managing bookings, equipment loans, and ensuring health and safety compliance. Duties also encompass equipment maintenance, ordering, and budget monitoring. The successful candidate will support teaching and research activities, including setting up and maintaining motion capture, spatial audio, and lighting systems, as well as providing live sound engineering support.

About You

Candidates should possess a degree in audio engineering (or a related field) and comprehensive experience in sound recording and production, including microphone techniques, studio setup, and live sound. Experience in motion capture, spatial audio, and stage lighting systems is also essential. Candidates must be proficient in operating digital audio workstations and possess the skills to operate, maintain, and install a range of audio equipment. Experience with equipment loans and maintenance, facility bookings, user support, and health and safety compliance is desirable.

The post is based at the Mile End Campus in London. It is a part time (14 hours per week), fixed term appointment for 24 months, with an expected start date in January 2025. Job share will be considered. The starting salary will be Grade 4 (pro rata for part time), inclusive of London Allowance.
