About the role
Applications are invited for a two 3-year full-time Research Associates to work with Prof Euan Spence as part of the ERC Synergy Grant "Phase-space-inspired numerical methods for high-frequency wave scattering: from semiclassical analysis through numerical analysis to implementation" (www.psinumscat.com).
These positions will be concerned with the numerical analysis - involving a mixture of theory and computations - of acoustic and electromagnetic problems, modelled in the frequency domain by the Helmholtz equation and the time-harmonic Maxwell equations.
The successful candidates will have, or will be nearing the completion of, a PhD in the Numerical Analysis of wave problems.
The post carries no teaching or administrative duties.
There are generous funds available under the project for attending conferences and conducting research visits.
