The University of Surrey is a global community of ideas and people, dedicated to life-changing education and research.
We are ambitious and have a bold vision of what we want to achieve - shaping ourselves into one of the best universities in the world, which we are achieving through the talents and endeavour of every employee.
Our culture empowers people to achieve this aim and to collectively, and individually, make a real difference.
The role
The University of Surrey is a research-led university and one of its key focuses is Sustainability, where the challenge is to educate students and carry out research into ways in which we can all live fulfilling lives while reducing environmental damage.
The Centre for Environment & Sustainability (CES) offers the unique Practitioner Doctorate in Sustainability (PDS) programme, in which students complete their research project within an organisation, solving a real-world sustainability challenge.
CES is seeking a part-time Partnership Development Officer (0.5 FTE) who will be responsible for proactively developing new leads and opportunities with businesses to employ PDS students. The post holder will manage relationships with sponsor organisations for the duration of the project to ensure high student and sponsor satisfaction.
About you
We are seeking an enthusiastic individual with excellent communication skills and experience in sales/business development. The post holder should be proactive in seeking opportunities to attract and retain sponsors.
We are looking for someone who would be available to work on Monday on campus, then two days across Tues/Wed/Thurs (these can be flexible).
What we can offer
In addition to salary, you will receive a yearly incremental pay rise, a generous pension, relocation assistance where appropriate, flexible working options, access to world-class leisure facilities on campus, a range of travel schemes and supportive family friendly benefits including an excellent on-site nursery.
How to apply
When completing the online application form, please include your CV with a covering letter. Interviews will be held 21st January 2025.
This is a fixed term position to 31 July 2025. It is renewable annually thereafter subject to PDS programme requirements (the programme has been in place without interruption since 2015).
The University of Surrey is committed to providing an inclusive environment that offers equal opportunities for all. We value everyone in our community and are seeking to increase the diversity. Therefore, we particularly encourage applications from under-represented groups, such as people from Black, Asian and minority ethnic groups and people with disabilities.
