FACULTY OF HEALTH AND LIFE SCIENCES
INSTITUTE OF POPULATION HEALTH
The Civic HealthTech Innovation Zone (CHI-Zone) is being established to accelerate the growth of the health and life science sector, upskill residents and create jobs for the Liverpool City Region. As Business Development Manager, you will oversee industry-facing activities for the CHI-Zone, fostering relations between University researchers and stakeholders from >100 entrepreneurs, SMEs and large corporates to develop leading-edge health and care technologies, including Artificial Intelligence.
As a key member of the Civic Health Innovation Labs (CHIL) team, you will work under the direction of Dr Annemarie Naylor, and closely with colleagues from the University’s Research, Partnerships and Innovation Directorate, Virtual Engineering Centre and CHIL’s HealthTech Design Studio. Within the Team, you will line manage the Market Research and Insights Analyst.
Your principal duties will include developing, implementing and monitoring an effective Business Engagement Strategy for the CHI-Zone; engaging with internal and external partners across data-driven and technology-enabled project conception, initiation, monitoring and outcome evaluation; and liaising with the University Enterprise Team to facilitate the development and commercialisation of IP arising from Academic-led R&I activities.
You should have a higher degree (PhD, MSc, MBA or equivalent) and/or relevant professional experience and evidence of continuing commitment to personal and professional development.
The post is available from 1 April 2025 until 31 March 2029.
Interviews for this role will take place during the month of January 2025.
Although the university has a hybrid working system, we expect that the applicant appointed to this role will work more than 60% on campus.
