About the role
The main aim of the Innovation Manager within the Research Impact Management Officer (RIMO) is to lead the development and implementation of innovation/exploitation strategies to commercialise and maximise the impact of the research from its portfolio of projects. The Innovation Manager will stimulate, identify, manage, and progress pathways to develop research and technologies through collaboration and commercialisation. This role directly underpins Imperial’s mission to achieve enduring excellence in research and education in science, engineering, medicine and business for the benefit of society.
The RIMO office is an integral part of Imperial’s Enterprise Department, providing bespoke project management, communications management and innovation management services to support high-profile international projects funded by various grants and programmes.
What you would be doing
You will be responsible for managing the IP, identifying patent and commercialisation opportunities, working with partnership, and leading the innovation plans across various research projects. As Innovation Manager, you will work closely with academic researchers, the partner universities’ technology transfer offices (TTOs), and external industry partners to drive the commercialisation of new innovative technologies, processes, and know-how developed through the research projects.
