About the Role:

We are looking for an English Lecturer to join us at The Tresham College. As a Lecturer you will play a pivotal role in the success of our students through:

  • Preparing, delivering, assessing English on a range of courses and levels
  • Supporting and guiding students to achieve success and realise their potential.
  • Managing students’ learning and provide a high quality learning experience.
  • Contributing pro-actively to developments in the Centre in curriculum development and innovative teaching.
  • Participating in marketing and promotion activities to support a range of programmes and learning opportunities.

About you:

  • Degree in a relevant subject
  • Certificate in Education or equivalent in line with the Statutory Instrument
  • English and Maths or similar at GCSE grade A-C or equivalent Current experience of teaching English Language
  • Experience of teaching and assessing GCSE English course
  • Knowledge of the current developments in own specialist area
  • Experience of working effectively with people from diverse backgrounds
  • Ability to communicate effectively and confidently face to face, on the telephone and in writing
  • Responsibility for promoting and safeguarding the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults and for raising any concerns

What is an Associate?

Associates work on a short term basis as assigned. They teach or provide support services and they work with and are supported by core staff. As an Associate you will be issued with an Associate agreement, under this Agreement period you will be eligible to work on assignments offered to you. Typically an agreement runs from January to December and may be renewed thereafter.
