The University of London is a leading UK provider of distance and digital education internationally, offering programmes to 45,000 students in 190 countries around the world. Although proudly rooted in London, our community and impact are global.

We are a national leader in the humanities, and we promote their value to society and the economy through knowledge creation and exchange.

The Role

The Wellbeing Coordinator role is essential to the University’s staff wellbeing strategy which has been recently approved by the senior leadership team.  This new role will be diverse and interesting, working across different strands of wellbeing and with staff at various levels of the University.

Our Wellbeing Strategy consists of 4 ‘health pillars’ which are physical, mental, social and financial and we aim to support our staff across all these areas.  We aim to so this through preventative measures in our core processes and through an awareness, training and health programme.  We further commit to supporting our employees when they need it most.  It would be these activities that you would be primarily coordinating.

The Wellbeing Coordinator role will sit within the Health and Safety team who themselves sit in the wider Human Resources department.  You will be liaising with a variety external providers in order to deliver the wellbeing programme.  You will also be a key member of our wellbeing working group and instrumental in developing our wellbeing ambassadors.  You will also be required to monitor our key contracts for wellbeing which include our employee assistance programme, occupational health and other health support services/discounts.  We wish to improve visibility of all of these at the university, so promotion activities will be within your role.

The job is 0.6 FTE so 3 days per week; there would be some flexibility on how this time is split but around half of this time would be expected to be on site at our Bloomsbury campus.
