We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Lecturer in Digital Skills to join our Adult Curriculum team. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality teaching and learning experiences to our students, ensuring they develop the necessary digital skills to succeed in their careers. This role involves curriculum development, student assessment, and contributing to the overall success of our digital skills programmes.
Scope and Purpose of the Role:
- Teaching and Learning: Deliver engaging and effective lessons on a range of digital skills programmes, ensuring all students achieve their learning goals.
- Programme Leadership: Act as a Programme Tutor, overseeing the administration and quality assurance of digital skills courses.
- Curriculum Development: Develop and update course materials to reflect current industry standards and technological advancements.
Essential Criteria:
- Qualifications:
- Relevant subject-related degree or equivalent qualification.
- Recognised teaching qualification or working towards one.
- A Units essential, V units preferred – or willingness to work towards.
- Minimum Level 2 Maths and English.
- Experience:
- Excellent subject knowledge and understanding of the relevant curriculum, qualification, and quality frameworks (web development, cyber security, digital marketing, coding)
- Experience of embedding English or Maths in lessons.
- Proven high standard of teaching skills and abilities or demonstrable potential to attain outstanding teaching.
- Skills and Attributes:
- Innovative and competent in utilising all available resources to provide a stimulating learning environment, including the use of MS Teams and learning technologies.
- Effective in managing behaviour and motivating students to contribute positively to the learning environment.
- Commitment to achieving the highest possible standards for all students, with a proven record of enabling students to improve their performance.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities:
- Teaching: Plan and deliver high-quality lessons, using a range of innovative and creative teaching techniques.
- Assessment: Use appropriate assessment methods to evaluate student progress and provide constructive feedback.
- Quality Assurance: Contribute to quality assurance processes, including course review and evaluation.
- Student Engagement: Monitor student attendance and behaviour, taking appropriate action as required.
