We are seeking a Research Fellow in Environmental Epidemiology, Health Data Science, or Medical Statistics to join a team of researchers using large linked longitudinal environmental, sociodemographic, and health data to investigate the effects of climate change on internal migration and migrant health in Brazil and the mitigating effects of social policies.
The post-holder will be responsible for conducting high-quality epidemiological studies on the effects of environmental and climate stressors on health, with a particular interest in disproportionate effects on migrants and minoritized communities in Brazil.
The post-holder must have a postgraduate degree in epidemiology, statistics, geography, demography or other relevant quantitative science and relevant experience in undertaking and interpreting climate and environmental epidemiological studies with advances statistical techniques. The post-holder will be encouraged and supported to develop their related research questions, get appropriate training, and apply for grants and/or fellowships. The post is full-time 35 hours per week, 1 FTE, and fixed-term until 31 December 2026. The post is funded by the Wellcome Trust and is available from 01 January 2025.
The salary will be on the Academic Pathway salary scale, Grade 6 in the range of £44,847 - £50,808 per annum (inclusive of London Weighting). The post will be subject to the LSHTM terms and conditions of service. Annual leave entitlement is 30 working days per year, pro rata for part-time staff. In addition to this, there are discretionary “Wellbeing Days”. Membership of the Pension Scheme is available. The post is based in London at LSHTM.
