Estate Patrol; Campus Security Team
This term-time, night shift post is available from January on a permanent basis.
Summary of the role
Are you passionate about creating a secure and welcoming environment for students, staff, and visitors? We are seeking an enthusiastic colleague to join our campus security team as an Estate Patrol Officer, with a strong focus on customer service and student engagement.
We operate 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. As an Estate Patrol Officer, you will be at the forefront of ensuring the safety and well-being of our university community and are first responders to any security and emergency incidents. Our Estate Patrol colleagues are pivotal in providing welfare, safety and security support across the University estates. Beyond typical security duties, we prioritise exceptional customer service and active student engagement.
We’re looking for enthusiastic, customer-focused people to join our community within our Estate Patrol, Campus Security Team.
Our Estate Patrol colleagues provide an effective, efficient and highly customer-focused service in order to ensure the safety and protection of all our students, colleagues and visitors, and the security of all University property.
This is a term-time position (32 weeks), with an average working week of 35 hours per week, with 10-hour shifts, alternating 4 nights / 4 off (20:30-06:30).
Term-time staff means staff who work less than 52 weeks per year (including holidays). The University operates a variety of working arrangements for term-time staff to meet the operational requirements of certain activities within Faculties and Professional Services. The working weeks of term-time staff are detailed in the contract of employment. Term-time staff must take their paid holiday entitlement in weeks when their attendance is not required. Overtime
Wherever possible employees should cooperate in working reasonable amounts of overtime as necessary. Whilst advance notice of overtime will normally be possible it is unavoidable that some overtime will occur at short notice due to sickness and emergencies.
There will be a requirement to work and assist with the summer graduation ceremonies (days) during a period in July. Times and days will be confirmed with you on appointment to the role.
