Programme Manager in Computing

The Bedford College Group – Computing Department

Location: Tresham College – Northamptonshire Campuses (Kettering, Corby & Wellingborough)

About the role:

We are looking for Programme Manager to join our Computing Department based at Bedford College. As a Programme Manager you will play a pivotal role in the success of our students by:

Leading the management of the operation and development of the Curriculum within a defined programme area.

Leading the management of Learning, Teaching, and Assessment (LTA) of programmes to ensure students experience high quality teaching and learning.

Representing your department/function at local and Group levels

Ensuring the effective management and performance of your team within the directorate and oversee a high-quality provision from the team

Ensuring the achievement of both TBCG and departmental strategies and workplans

Ensuring all Statutory requirements, policies and procedures are in place and effectively communicated, implemented and followed by all employees of TBCG

Carrying out all aspects of the role in line with TBCG culture and values

Ensuring the student experience is kept at the heart of everything your Directorate does

About you:

A degree in specialist subject area (HSC or Science) or relevant industry experience and professional standing.

English and Maths or similar at GCSE grade A-C or equivalent

Recognised teaching qualification (PGCE, Cert Ed or equivalent)Evidence of high performance in previous roles/jobs

Relevant work experience in the sector to underpin subject leadership with credibility and authority

Recent experience of successful management/ team leadership in Further Education

Experience of teaching successfully across a range of levels

Knowledge and experience of quality assurance systems in Further Education

Ability to effectively lead and manage a team of professionals

Ability to consistently support a high-quality learning experience for all students

Ability to communicate effectively and confidently face to face, on the telephone and in writing

Responsibility for promoting and safeguarding the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults and for raising any concerns.
