About the role:
We are looking for Learning Support Assistant to join our Foundation Learning Department based at Bedford College. As a Learning Support Assistant you will play a pivotal role in the success of our students by:
Providing support to students with the Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) within a specialist setting across all aspects of their college curriculum.
Providing overall care of the student and enable him/her to access the college facilities and develop independence within the wider community.
Being an active member of the Foundation Team and to assist in the development of individual programmes and the assessment of student progress.
About you:
Educated to Level 2 in Maths and English.
Relevant L3 qualification or willingness to work towards.
Working knowledge of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities.
Experience of providing support to young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities in an educational or care setting.
Experience of using Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, Access and Powerpoint)
Ability to communicate effectively and confidently face to face, on the telephone and in writing.
Responsibility for promoting and safeguarding the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults and for raising any concerns.
Ability to contribute to a high-quality learning experience and welcoming environment for all students.
