About the role
The UCL Geomatics section comprises academic staff, Research Associates and PhD students with complimentary skills from geospatial data collection to processing and analytics.
• Engage in research of international standing on foundational or generative AI, and their applications to spatial data.
• Enhance the department’s research capacity by bringing expert knowledge in the latest advances in fundamental and generative AI, and their applications to and data-centric engineering.
• Contribute to teaching in the MSc programmes and the wider department, with a focus on Programming, Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence.
• Develop positive working relationships and work collaboratively with colleagues in the Department and the Geomatics section.
Salary/Title on appointment is subject to experience.
About you
• PhD in Computer Science, GeoInformatics or other areas related to Spatial AI
• Demonstrated excellence in research in deep learning and AI
• Experience of application of generative AI to real-world problems
•Knowledge of and experience in core machine learning algorithms, large-scale foundation models
•An excellent track record of publications
