About the Role:
We are looking for a Senior Lecturer to join us at The Bedford College Group. As a Lecturer you will play a pivotal role in the success of our students through:
Developing and leading on HE programmes with a construction and BSE specialism
Preparing, delivering, assessing and verifying HE Built environment subject specialisms on a range of courses and levels
Supporting and guiding students to achieve success and realise their potential.
Managing students’ learning and provide a high quality learning experience.
Undertaking course administration as necessary.
Leading and contributing to curriculum developments within the Built Environment department
Carrying out course leadership duties where appropriate.
About you:
Degree in construction/BSE field of study
Evidence of successfully leading a team in an HE environment related to the built environment
Literacy and Numeracy Level 2
Experience of leading an HE provision through ‘Office for Students’ audits and moderations
Experience of developing new curriculum pathways and capital equipment in order to provide the best possible learning environment for HE students
Successful experience as a teacher in an FE environment, particularly BSE up to and including level 3
Evidence of high performance in previous roles/jobs
Experience of working effectively with people from diverse backgrounds
Ability to communicate effectively and confidently face to face, on the telephone and in writing
Responsibility for promoting and safeguarding the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults and for raising any concerns
