Job description
A Research Associate position is available for an ambitious and skilled theoretical scientist with a proven track record in the application of computational and/or theoretical techniques to materials to undertake research in the group of Dr Helen Willcock, within the wider Polymer Synthesis and Processing Group, a vibrant and inclusive group within the Materials department at Loughborough University.
Dr Willcocks research group focuses on the synthesis of responsive polymers for applications in medical imaging, sensing and degradable composites. For further information about the research group, see https://willcockgroup.wixsite.com/willcock-group This post is co-supervised by Dr Martin Greenall at the University of Lincoln.
The successful applicant should have, or be working towards, a PhD in maths, computational chemistry or another relevant subject. The applicant should be capable of working under their own initiative and should be familiar with applying common computational and/or theoretical techniques to Materials. Good communication skills, both oral and written, are required.
