Are you ready to take on a key role in a high-profile initiative within the unique and beautiful setting of the University of Lincoln? Do you aspire to do impactful work whilst accessing new experiences, acquiring new skills, and benefiting from strong mentorship from successful leaders? This role may be for you.
The "Centre Manager" will help to build a Lincoln-based centre-of-excellence focused on applying data and AI technologies for national security benefit. This is a fascinating mission that is globally relevant, nationally-important, will drive regional growth and is a high priority for the university and our partners. We will be building on existing capabilities and momentum and have strong support in place from university leadership, local government, central government and the business community.
You will work very closely with the Centre's founding Director who is energetic, well established in the security sector and has successfully founded and scaled a technology business, and with the Centre's AI lead, an accomplished academic and university leader. Both have plenty of experience to share and are committed to mentoring and developing a growing team, so this role is ideal for someone with ambition and a hunger to learn and develop. We plan to create a diverse team of motivated and friendly people, united by a strong purpose and successful in making an impact.
You will be critical to the successful and sustainable growth of the Centre. Responsibilities will be wide and varied, allowing you to connect with teams within the university and external stakeholders in industry, academia and government. Activities will evolve as the initiative develops and include a mix of planning, financial management, progress reporting, marketing and external communications, external stakeholder engagement, business development, project management, network building and event management. This role will therefore suit someone who likes to be busy, is motivated by getting things done, and is comfortable working in a dynamic and flexible way across multiple tasks.
At a practical level, you will be based at the main university campus in Lincoln and encouraged to spend time working onsite amongst colleagues, as well as attending some external stakeholder meetings and events.
If you're still reading and this sounds exciting please do apply! Or, if you need more information first, you can email the Centre Director, Fiona Strens, at fstrens@lincoln.ac.uk.
