The School of Health and Social Care
The School of Health and Social Care has an excellent reputation for teaching and research. Our academic members of staff include health policy, service and systems researchers, occupational therapists, speech and language therapists, psychological therapists, nurses, social workers, oral health practitioners, clinical psychologists, and sociologists. The School is run over two campuses: Southend and Colchester. Academic staff are supported by a team of administrative staff based at both Colchester and Southend campuses
The School has been awarded the NIHR INSIGHT contract for the East of England, led by Professor Fay Crawford, and the new Masters in Health and Care Research (MRes) is central to the research education and training of INSIGHT students at Essex.
As a result of this, the School are looking for a Senior Lecturer to lead the delivery of the Health Economics module in the Masters in Health and Care Research (MRes).
The role will require designing and delivering a broad range of innovative teaching at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels, along with leading the design and delivery of assessment strategies in the department/faculty (e.g. through the setting, marking and moderation of exams and coursework).

Skills and qualifications required
You will have a relevant doctoral level degree in Health Economics or equivalent professional experience or practice, along with Fellowship of the Higher Education Academy or the ability to gain professional recognition at this or a higher level if appropriate.
The successful candidate will have substantial experience of teaching at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels, incorporating aspects of the organisation, leadership and/or management of teaching. You will also have the ability and willingness to complement and enhance the department/school’s research and education strengths and areas of planned development.
