About the role:
Interested in a post-doc research role performing cutting-edge translational microbiology to further knowledge of how pathogens interact with each other and with their host to affect people with Cystic Fibrosis (CF)? Fancy doing this as part of a team of multi-disciplinary experts at one of the world's top universities?
We are inviting applicants to join the team at the PRECISION Innovation Hub based at Imperial College London; this post is in fungal disease and polymicrobial infection. Funded by LifeArc and the CF Trust (multi-£M), PRECISION brings together an international network of translational clinicians and scientists developing close links to industrial collaborators, with the shared aim of understanding and improving lung-related outcomes for individuals with CF. PRECISION will be one of 4 Hubs across a national Network collaborating to maximise pace of progress in basic and translational science. The ultimate goal of the Innovation Hub Network is to improve infection-related outcomes for people living with CF.

This role will be embedded at the heart of the Network at the lead site, Imperial College London. The projects utilise cutting edge technology to optimise models to better understand complex polymicrobial infections and how they may impact on the CF lung.
What you would be doing:
You will work closely with a team of scientists and clinical academics to build-on and develop models of poly-microbial infections previously established in the group, with particular focus on Aspergillus fumigatus and interactions with other clinically relevant CF pathogens, inflammatory responses and biomarkers. You will work closely with co-appointed PRECISION PhD students and staff, providing training and support in the development of future scientists and yourself. Opportunities to network across the Hub will be encouraged.
This post is one of 3 currently being advertised to join PRECISION. They are separate, but closely related projects with potential interaction and collaboration; candidates may apply for more than one of these, although it is unlikely that the skills required would support applications for all three.
