There is an exciting opportunity to be part of the Hertfordshire Business School’s Executive Education Team in the role of Employer Liaison Tutor, supporting apprentices on the Business and Management apprenticeship programmes at L6 (UG) and L7 (PG). You will work within a friendly and collegiate team in the development and delivery of part time, mature, leadership and management apprenticeships, supporting the apprentices in their work-based learning.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

You will be required to work with a significant portfolio of apprentices (and their employer mentors) on their apprenticeship journey, in a pastoral, compliance and administrative capacity. You will work in a team of academics to support the apprentices towards successful End Point Assessment. You will engage with their Employer Mentors, working to high professional standards, and you will support Module Leaders for core occasional teaching sessions (both on weekdays and weekends). You will need to facilitate regular Progress Review Meetings and adopt a coaching approach to support the learners towards successful End Point Assessment.

Duties and responsibilities also include giving written and verbal feedback to apprentices on their evidence and narratives, collecting and reporting on a range of data to demonstrate the development of our apprentices, working with employers to identify appropriate Off the Job training and a variety of apprenticeship administration.

Skills and Experience

Experience of providing pastoral and academic supports to students as well as coaching or mentoring or delivering work-based training are essential. You will have excellent interpersonal, listening and communication skills to build good working relationships and give feedback both written and verbal. Proven administrative expertise experience for the positions with proven pastoral support skills. Experience with working with managers and senior leaders (and their Line Managers) is desirable.

You will need to have the ability to work proactively and autonomously, whilst meeting deadlines. You must also have practical I.T skills, including a good working knowledge of Microsoft Windows and Office and an ability to adopt new packages such as the University’s virtual learning environment. Having a professional service-oriented approach, managing the progress of multiple cohorts of learners on their apprenticeship, influencing apprentices and mentors whilst maintaining compliance and administrative rigour are desirable for this role.
