The University of Kent Disability team is looking to recruit to our pool of Specialist Autism Mentors, providing hourly paid support to students.
Pay band: £29.98 per hour.
Specialist mentors provide non-medical 1:1 mentoring support for students with Autistic Spectrum conditions and/or ADHD.
This includes delivering focused interventions to help autistic students, allowing students to engage in their learning including independent study
Our Specialist Mentors should have in depth knowledge of supporting autistic people, an understanding of the demands of study in HE, and be able to recognise when there is a need to refer to others.
Mentors must also clearly document all meetings, reviews, actions and outcomes within existing recording systems
Applicants for the role are required to be educated to degree level or equivalent, have a professional qualification in a related field and meet the criteria for Specialist Mentor – Autism Spectrum Conditions:

The hours for this role are not pre-set and can be agreed with the line manager prior to commencing the role and reviewed each term. We do ask for a minimum 6 hrs per week and maximum of 20 hrs (although additional hours may be possible).
