About the role
The Facility for Imaging by Light Microscopy (FILM) at Imperial College London is seeking a dynamic individual to join our team at the Hammersmith and South Kensington campuses as Facility Manager (High Throughput Single Cell Analysis (HTSCA)). The facility is central to advancing research in Medicine, Life Sciences, Chemistry, and Bioengineering, serving a large community of 400 users from 130 groups. This role focuses on the development and enhancement of high-throughput and multiplex imaging technologies, offering support and training in light microscopy, and contributing to the operational and strategic development of the FILM facility.
What you would be doing
High-Throughput Imaging Development: Spearhead the innovation and enhancement of imaging technologies, focusing on multiplex imaging. Responsibilities include complex experimental planning, wet lab support, antibody testing, high-precision image acquisition, robotic automation, and sophisticated image analysis with AI applications.
Advanced Imaging Projects: Design and implement workflows and pipelines in multiplex imaging. Collaborate with leading labs and facility staff under the supervision of the FILM Facility Manager to advance research capabilities in spatial biology.
User Support and Training: Provide high-standard technical expertise, training, and support in various light microscopy techniques, including multiplex, widefield fluorescence, and confocal microscopy. Handle day-to-day coordination, maintenance, and running of the microscopes.
Community and Outreach Coordination: Engage in educational and public outreach activities, contribute to training developments, and support communication efforts related to advanced imaging technologies.

This post is fixed term for 12 months and we would welcome an internal secondment opportunity.
Please note that the College will be closing on Friday 20th December and returning on Thursday 2nd January 2025. Therefore, it is unlikely that shortlisting will be able to take place until we return.
