The Board of Electors to the Dobson Professorship of Materials Science and Metallurgy invite applications for this Professorship from persons whose work falls within the field of the Professorship to take up appointment on 1 April 2025 or as soon as possible thereafter.
Candidates will have an outstanding research record of international leadership in the field of energy materials. The candidate's areas of interest should include the development of new technologies for the storage and transmission of various types of sustainable energy achieved through materials discovery by computational methods. They should possess the vision, leadership, experience and enthusiasm to build on current strengths in maintaining and developing a leading research presence, and will hold a PhD or equivalent postgraduate qualification.
Standard professorial duties include teaching and research, examining, supervision and administration. The Professor will be based in Cambridge. A competitive salary will be offered.
