Role Summary
The University of Birmingham is ranked among the world’s top 100 institutions and has a strong track record of success in postgraduate and professional education. As part of its ongoing growth and diversification strategy, the University has set ambitious plans to expand its vocational and academic short courses for working professionals and the local community.
The city centre location at 3 Centenary Square (The Exchange) has become a key hub for the delivery of Continuous Professional Development (CPD) across the University. This space supports our efforts to broaden our postgraduate and professional education offer, including both classroom and online-based short courses and microcredentials. The building is strategically located alongside the city’s cultural, civic, and corporate institutions on Centenary Square and serves as the front-of-house for University of Birmingham CPD programmes and short courses.
To support this aim, we are seeking to appoint an experienced Student Recruitment Manager (Postgraduate & Professional Education) to join our dedicated and innovative External Relations team. This team is responsible for developing our short course portfolio, establishing new partnerships, and driving income-generating activities.
This role will work closely with the Head of Postgraduate Recruitment, and colleagues across the University to develop the short course strategy and portfolio. The position sits within the PG Recruitment and Marketing team and is part of the broader Student Recruitment and Marketing team in External Relations, which is responsible for recruiting students from both the UK and internationally.
We are looking for individuals with student recruitment, marketing or business development experience, ideally within large, complex organisations. You should be passionate about engaging with people, skilled in interacting with senior corporate professionals and academics, experienced in delivering against KPIs and KPTs, and able to effectively translate complex information into a compelling case for support, both verbally and in writing.
