About the role:
We are looking for Learning Mentor to join our Performing Arts Department based at Bedford College. As a Learning Mentor you will play a pivotal role in the success of our students by:
Working across College to collect and record attendance and punctuality data, following up with learners to monitor improvements.
Working with learners who are at risk due to welfare issues, undertaking early interventions to provide support and remove barriers in order to improve their learning opportunities.
Making a significant contribution to driving up College success rates by dramatically improving the attendance and punctuality of those learners.
Working with the designated administrator to schedule and organise annual reviews and complete EHCP paperwork in a timely way.
About you:
English and Maths or similar at GCSE grade A-C or equivalent
Good all round general education
Willingness to work towards Level 2 Safeguarding and Youth Mental Health First Aid qualification
Knowledge and awareness of Equality, Diversity and Inclusion
Experience of working in a student support or related role
Experience of providing careers advice and guidance or education to young people and/or adults
Good verbal and written communication skills
Good organisational skills
Good interpersonal skills
Ability to travel to all campus locations for meetings, events, training etc.
