The opportunity
We are looking for an experienced academic to provide first-rate teaching and assessment on the BA Hons Fashion Design and Development course at London College of Fashion.
Based in the School of Design and Technology, the Fashion Design and Development course seeks to rethink fashion industry practices through innovation, technology and future-thinking, whilst developing creative practical and strategic skills and responsible design approaches.
As an Associate Lecturer, you will help develop our students' creative, practical and strategic skills, preparing them for a successful career within the fashion industry. You will deliver high quality teaching and related support to students on the course, delivering structured learning experiences including induction sessions, classes, tutorials, lectures, seminars, workshops, studio critiques and student presentations.
You will also assist students with creative problem solving and will contribute to their final collections, adapting your teaching style to meet individual needs.
About you
You will need an undergraduate degree or an equivalent qualification in fashion design, as well as possess relevant industry experience.
We are looking for an individual with good communication and organisational skills, who can provide up-to-date knowledge, expertise and experience of professional practice and/or research in your specific specialist subject area.
Along with experience of teaching and assessment in a higher education environment, you will also demonstrate a passion for delivering inclusive, engaging and accessible sessions that empower our students.
