About us

About the role

We are looking to appoint a Lecturer (Teaching) focusing on Academic Support and Study Skills to support and mentor students with their academic skills and understanding of the discipline of law as they develop as academic legal scholars. The role will work closely with the Director of Education and the Laws’ Programme Directors to identify, develop and deliver a range of support initiatives that complement existing provisions, and assist with monitoring and evaluating learning outcomes, academic performance and contributing to quality assurance of taught modules and programmes.

This role is offered as a fixed-term contract until 31 July 2025 on a full-time basis (we will also consider part-time applications).

About you

The successful candidate will hold an undergraduate and/or postgraduate degree qualification in law, and have an up-to-date, broad legal education knowledge across the discipline. They will have a good understanding of academic legal skills and standards of professional practice and be experienced in teaching law and/or delivering professional training in a legal setting.

The successful candidate will possess highly developed written and verbal communication skills, strong organisational skills and personal effectiveness to handle a busy workload with multiple priorities. They will have excellent interpersonal and coaching skills, with the ability to convey clear, constructive feedback, and demonstrate a strong sense of collegiality and teamwork, working harmoniously with colleagues and students of all cultures and backgrounds.
