The above post within Technical Strategy and Operations is available on a part-time and permanent basis of 18.25 hours per week (0.5 FTE). Working hours will be arranged to cover the teaching day, between 8 am and 6 pm. There is a level of flexibility within these hours which is dictated by the operational requirements. There will be more flexibility outside of term-time.
Summary of the role:
This exciting, part-time, permanent post at the University of Exeter’s St Luke’s Campus, in the Life Science Resource Centre with the Medical School has become available. The primary focus of this post is to manage the day-to-day operational delivery of technical services support to teaching within the Life Science Resource Centre.
We are looking for an individual with exceptional communication and time management skills, who has experience in providing technical support to staff and students in a resource centre environment. You must be able to work independently, have excellent communication and liaison skills, using your initiative to tackle problems, excellent planning skills, with an ability to manage your own workload, set priorities and work to strict deadlines whist remaining calm under pressure. Knowledge and experience of operating within a Health and Safety role, and laboratory environment would be essential.

The Research Services Division is a key enabler to the delivery of the University’s Strategy 2030, the Research and Impact Strategy, successful REF performances, and meeting research income targets.
This role is within the Technical Strategy & Operations part of the Division. We are research and teaching technical staff across the entirety of the University of Exeter. We work in specialist areas across the University and beyond, undertaking and supporting research and teaching and promoting compliance and best practice, in the labs, studios, workshops, and field.
