Full time starting salary is normally in the range of:
Lecturer: £48,039 to £57,797 with potential progression to £70,000 per annum
Senior Lecturer: £60,099 to £69,505 per annum with potential progression up to £85,000 per annum.

We welcome applications for this exciting permanent academic post from passionate Aircraft Design specialists to join our successful Centre for Aeronautics' Aircraft Design Group. Join us to shape the future of our research, design, and consultancy activities in airframe systems design, general aircraft design, and flying demonstrator design. We also teach the popular MSc in Aerospace Vehicle Design.
About the Role
You will be responsible for the development and delivery of high-quality teaching at postgraduate level in airframe systems design and integration and world leading research in areas of interest relevant to future aerospace industry requirements. Our academics are supported and encouraged to build their research teams and wider networks through successful research funding applications. The role is challenging and involves planning, integrating and coordinating diverse responsibilities in research, consultancy, project management, teaching and research student supervision.
About You
We seek a qualified individual, encouraging applications from aerospace professionals or those with related industry experience looking to advance their career in a research-focused environment offering greater autonomy than typical in industry. Experience in impactful, cross-disciplinary, and industrially relevant research is an advantage. Senior Lecturer candidates should demonstrate leadership in areas such as course management, business development, securing large funding, leading funded research projects, and managing industry-linked research networks.
You will be educated to doctoral level in a relevant subject or have equivalent extensive industry experience. With a track record and solid experience of R&D related to Aircraft design or systems together with evidence of collaborative working with other discipline specialists, you will also have the ability to develop business opportunities and attract income.
With excellent communication & influencing skills, you will ideally have teaching experience at postgraduate level and professional development courses. Highly computer literate, expertise in MATLAB would be ideal.
