Who we need?

Areas of Expertise: Fabrication Welding and Sheet Metalwork

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and write schemes of work and lesson plans that meet curriculum requirements and industry standards.
  • Deliver high-quality, engaging lectures and practical sessions to promote active learning.
  • Challenge inappropriate behaviours, monitor attendance effectively, and provide support for student success.
  • Assess student performance and provide constructive feedback for academic growth.
  • Mentor students through projects, helping them achieve learning objectives.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to improve curriculum and share best practices.
  • Engage with industry professionals to enhance learning through guest lectures, site visits and partnerships.
  • Manage classroom resources and maintain a safe, effective learning environment.
  • Participate in professional development to enhance teaching and technical skills.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum Level 5 qualification in Engineering Education (Fabrication Welding & Sheet Metalwork) or willingness to complete training.
  • Proven experience in teaching or training engineering.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire students.
  • Proactive, innovative approach to teaching and continuous improvement.
  • Excellent organisational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team.
  • Proficient in using educational technology to enhance learning.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience in curriculum development and instructional design.
  • Knowledge of Fabrication Welding and Sheet Metal Work.
  • Awareness of trends and future directions in engineering education.
  • Ability to engage diverse students and adapt teaching methods to various learning needs.
