Are you an experienced health and care researcher looking for your next career move?

The University of Lincoln is seeking to appoint a Professor of Community Health Care to join the School of Health and Care Sciences. This is an exciting opportunity to lead research that transforms lives and communities locally, regionally, and nationally whilst also generating data of international significance. Our university is deeply committed to working with our partners across Lincolnshire’s Integrated Care System fostering collaborations across the health and care sector. This post offers a fantastic opportunity to build on our established success in health and social care research, while also serving as a role model for health and social care professionals within the school. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in developing research capacity among our staff and students, fostering a culture of inquiry and innovation.

The School of Health and Care Sciences works closely with the Lincoln Institute for Rural and Coastal Health (LIRCH), the country's first integrated and multidisciplinary research institute dedicated to rural and coastal health research. LIRCH has been awarded £10.9 million funding from Research England’s Expanding Excellence in England (E3) fund and is currently undergoing significant expansion.

We are looking for a dynamic individual to join our established academic team, to lead research, support research capacity development within Lincolnshire and to contribute to teaching in our Health and Social Care Portfolio. Ideally, you will be a current registrant within an NMC, HCPC, GPhC or SWE regulated profession, although this is not essential.

Situated in the heart of a historic city, the University of Lincoln is committed to transforming lives and communities through our teaching and research. We are listed in the world’s top 150 universities in the Times Higher Education’s (THE) Young University Rankings 2024 and hold a five-star score overall in the QS Stars rating system of global universities. We are one of a select group of universities to achieve the top Gold rating overall and in both aspect ratings for student experience and student outcomes in the national Teaching Excellence Framework (TEF) 2023. We were awarded the Queen's Anniversary Prize for Further and Higher Education in 2023. In the 2021 REF 79% of our research was classed as internationally excellent or world-leading research in the 2021 Research Excellence Framework (REF) assessment and we were in the top 30% for knowledge exchange in the national Knowledge Exchange Framework (KEF), by Research England in 2021. We are continuing to invest in our research expertise as research growth is a key pillar in the University of Lincoln’s aspirations and growth strategy.

As part of your application, please upload a detailed CV, that includes any practice and teaching experience, and professional registration; your project funding indicating whether you were CI or PI, and full publication list (or other research output) record.

For an informal discussion about this exciting opportunity, please contact Professor Kate Grafton, Head of School at kgrafton@lincoln.ac.uk.
