Fordham University in London is seeking to appoint an adjunct professor for a level four course in Marketing for the spring semester - starting on 13 January 2025 and concluding on 2 May with a study break on 17-21 March 2025.
It is estimated that the sports industry generates over $400 billion a year in revenue and it is still growing. Sports products are more than just the sporting event, the athlete and the arena and now encompass items such as sporting goods and equipment, licensed merchandise and clothing lines, collectibles and memorabilia, personal training/fitness centres and health services, sports camps and instruction as well as sports information and media.
In addition, sports products include the successful and strategic management of operations/facilities, overseeing revenues and investments as well as bringing events to the attention of the public through advertising, sales, promotion and sponsorships. With this as a background, this course will focus on the industry, the market opportunities and the strategies for seizing those opportunities with products and services.
The goals of the deliverables are as follows:
It will allow students to recognize the viability of sports and the “association of sport” in today’s economy.
It will allow students to apply the principles of sports marketing to a selected organisation and/or industry.
Successful candidates must be experienced and effective teachers, able to cater for the diverse student body and engage students in the subject matter so that they are fully prepared for their journey through the bachelor degree. Teaching is in weekly three hour blocks. In Spring 2025, it will be taught on Monday afternoons (2-5pm).
Approximately 600 students study each year at Fordham London from Fordham University’s School of Arts & Science and the Gabelli School of Business.
