Background

Working within a multidisciplinary team, the Research Assistant will support the impact and engagement work with key stakeholders in education and the medical field to help ensure they benefit from the research findings and activities. We are seeking someone with a willingness to gain a good understanding of careers in the medical and health care field who can help with the development of outputs aimed at schools, and engagement activities with medical schools and the profession.

Main Duties

  • Work with the project team and stakeholders to develop engagement and impact activities
  • Support with the drafting and dissemination of research findings for practitioner and policy audiences
  • Support with the administration arising from research and impact and engagement activities
  • Support with the development of academic outputs -e.g. provide literature reviews, etc.
  • Contribute to enterprise, business development and/or public engagement activities of manifest benefit to the College and the University, often under supervision of a project leader

Person Specification

  • A first degree or equivalent that would provide insight into careers in healthcare and the importance of diversity and inclusion in them. This can be a health care related degree, education related or social science related (e.g. psychology, sociology, management, human resource management, human geography, etc.)
  • Practical experience of applying the relevant skills and techniques
  • Ability to analyse information and communicate effectively
  • Ability to access and organise resources successfully
  • Knowledge of the protected characteristics of the Equality Act 2010, and how to actively ensure in day to day activity in own area that those with protected characteristics are treated equally and fairly
  • A recent DBS or the willingness to apply for one
