Assistant Professor in Linguistics and Multilingual Studies
The School of Humanities invites outstanding academics to apply for two tenure-track positions in Linguistics and Multilingual Studies at the rank of Assistant Professor. Successful candidates must have a PhD at the time of appointment.
The Linguistics and Multilingual Studies programme strongly encourages and supports interdisciplinary, empirical research. Both appointments are expected to begin in July 2025.
Suitable applicants should have PhDs in Linguistics or related fields and be able to teach core courses in the Linguistics and Multilingual Studies programme (see description of core courses (Link). They will also be expected to offer electives in one or more areas of specialization. We seek applicants with one or more of the following specializations (with priority to the first two areas):
In addition to teaching at the undergraduate level, successful applicants will be expected to contribute to the administration of the programme, postgraduate-level teaching, and supervision, and be active in research and publication. They should complement existing strengths in the programme and also add to those strengths in new and substantive ways. They must present a proven track record of research excellence and a continuing research agenda that involves interdisciplinary collaboration.
