About the role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic, dedicated and strategic-minded individual to join our team as Heritage Partnerships Officer. You will play a lead role in developing, nurturing and sustaining equitable partnerships with community groups, local authorities, and other stakeholders, to advance strategic and inclusive heritage-related initiatives across the region and beyond.

Reporting to the Director of the University’s newly established Heritage Hub, you will carry out research and stakeholder engagement to identify heritage need and interests regionally and remove barriers to access and participation. You will build and strengthen relationships with heritage stakeholders internally (e.g. working with Schools, the University’s Research Institutes and Centres and the ‘Universities Partnership’) and externally in support of the University’s new Strategy, to engage new and diverse audiences.

In addition, you will pursue enterprise and grant funding opportunities to support partnership projects and activities, and assist in grant writing and reporting as needed. You will also represent the Hub in relevant forums, meetings, and networking events to raise awareness and foster collaboration. You will facilitate the sharing of resources, expertise, and best practices internally and among partners to spark new collaborations and maximise engagement and impact.

About you

You will have a thorough understanding of the heritage sector and stakeholder engagement processes. You will be able to build and maintain a strong network of internal and external stakeholders, regionally and nationally. You will have experience of applying for funding in the heritage or related sectors, and proven ability to manage budgets, deliver and evaluate multifaceted inclusive projects involving multiple stakeholders.

Alongside this, you will have experience of developing and implementing a sustainable business model, possessing the highest standards of professional performance required to represent the Heritage Hub internally and to external audiences.
