The Perse School is looking to appoint a motivated and inspiring teacher of Computer Science to take responsibility for the curriculum in this large, highly regarded and vibrant department. This is a rare and exceptional opportunity to lead an energetic and nationally acclaimed Department built upon an extraordinary foundation of pupil involvement and enthusiasm, and to help shape the profile, vision and longer-term strategic planning of the department. The successful candidate will have a relevant degree, genuine passion for the subject and be well placed to generate and sustain a high degree of motivation in all pupils, who are mainly of a high ability.
Teaching takes place in both ICT suites for younger students and standard classrooms where students use their 1-to-1 devices. Lessons reflect the mixture of theoretical and practical learning that is embedded in the subject; the teaching language is Python and familiarity with that would be essential.
Public exam results regularly place The Perse in the top 20 schools nationally and in a typical year over 50 pupils will receive Oxbridge offers. The Perse enjoys a prestigious reputation and values a mixed approach to teaching and learning. We aim to respect tradition and innovation, industry and fun, and academic and personal growth. All teachers and pupils are required to demonstrate all-round excellence and contribute to the academic, pastoral and extra-curricular life of the school.
At The Perse School, we value the well-being of all staff and offer a supportive environment that balances professional ambitions with personal growth, opportunity and work-life balance.
