This is an exciting opportunity for a postdoctoral researcher to join the Department of Psychology at the University of Liverpool, working closely with Dr Charlotte Buckley on the NIHR funded NOURISH project (Nutrition, Obesity and Unhealthy food Relationships in food Insecure populations: Systems modelling of Health-related policies and outcomes).
You will join an inter-disciplinary research project which is a collaboration of academic researchers from the University of Liverpool, University of Sheffield, Liverpool John Moores University and Teesside University and non-academic stakeholders including Sustain, Greater Manchester NHS and Greater Manchester Combined Authority.
The overall aim of NOURISH is to develop an agent-based model (ABM) to study how new food policies, such as restrictions on food advertising, can influence eating behaviours and improve public health. Additionally, the model will assess the impact of these policies on reducing inequalities, particularly for people living with food insecurity.
You should have a PhD in psychology or other relevant quantitative discipline. Exceptional candidates awaiting confirmation of PhD award (e.g. submitted) can also be considered.
If you are still awaiting your PhD to be awarded you will be appointed at Grade 6, spine point 30. Upon written confirmation that you have been awarded your PhD, your salary will be increased to Grade 7, spine point 31.
The post is available in the first instance until November 2027. Opportunities will be sought to continue funding beyond fixed term periods where appropriate.
Although the university has a hybrid working system, the expectation is that the successful applicant appointed to this role will be expected to work more than 50% on campus.
