About The Role
We are currently seeking to appoint a leader and manager as Course Leader for our BA (Hons) Interior Architecture and BA(Hons) Interior Design courses. The post-holder will be responsible to the Head of the School of Architecture, Design and Interiors.
Based in The School of Architecture, Design and Interiors (SADI) at our Falmouth campus, Cornwall the interior courses enjoy a unique educational environment set in modern open plan design studios with a backdrop of tropical gardens and stunning coastlines. These professionally tuned courses, deliver real world design and digital skills while utilising live projects to empower student learning, providing a thorough understanding of how to design innovative interior environments and spaces for today and tomorrow.
As Course Leader, you will provide leadership and management to the course team and support the Head of Subject with new product development, recruitment, growth of the department, planning and operational management within the subject area. You will lead the Interior courses curriculum planning and development, ensuring a positive student experience and will oversee quality assurance for the courses through internal course and module reviews. Alongside this you will be responsible for dedicated module leadership, delivering excellent teaching through lectures, seminars, workshops and tutorials, with the ability to develop strong links with local, national and international industry partners.
The ability to develop and lead curricula that will ‘inspire’ the next generation of designers is key to this role. We seek a talented and experienced senior academic with leadership and design practice experience who is interested in developing the future sharing of interior education with a dedicated and knowledgeable staff team.
About You
With proven experience as a Course Leader or manager, you will have held previous/recent responsibility for staff and budgets. You will possess comprehensive and current knowledge of Interior Architecture, theory and practice, as well as being able to demonstrate an ongoing and demonstrable track record in research through practice, publications, grant awards and Research Excellence Framework (REF) submissions.
