Applications are invited for a Guaranteed Hours (GH), open ended contract as a Tutor in Design on the following course: DESI08141 Introduction to Queer Studies (19 hours)

The Opportunity: 

We are looking for applications from individuals experienced in teaching a range of critically and theoretically informed approaches to Queer Studies at undergraduate level to fill tutoring positions in Semester 2 in AY2024/2025. Applicants should be familiar with the methods and literature of the course which is interdisciplinary and Arts & Humanities focused. They should be able to engage passionately with seminar teaching and with clear, supportive and forward-feeding assessment practices with predominantly reading-based discussions and essay submissions.

Your skills and attributes for success:

  • Educated to PhD-level in a relevant Arts & Humanities field, or equivalent.
  • Ability to work within a team with a collegial attitude, respect and sensitivity toward students and other staff members.
  • An attentiveness to intersectionality, the fostering of safe-spaces, and EDI concerns.
  • An enthusiastic, positive and creative approach to teaching.
