The University of Southampton is inviting applications for a Research Fellow/ Senior Research Assistant in the area of homelessness and psychology. The successful candidate will join the Centre for Homelessness Research and Practice, located in the School of Psychology.
The Centre for Homelessness Research and Practice knits together research, education, training, and practice. It hosts a regional community of practice across the South East of England, as well as working with national and international partners. The Centre engages in policy engagement, addressing the complexity of homelessness by considering the interaction of individual and systemic factors.
The successful applicant will undertake research in evaluating the effectiveness/impact of a large project aiming to increase psychological knowledge and expertise within the homelessness sector under the supervision of the award holder, and contribute administrative tasks related to the setting up of an community of practice subgroup focused on climate change and homelessness, as well as undertaking leadership, management and engagement activities.
The ideal candidate will have a track record in at least one of the following research areas:
Developing and carrying out service evaluations
Homelessness and marginalised populations
Carrying out administrative tasks associated with specific research funding
Developing a community of practice
Applications for Research Fellow positions will be considered from candidates who are working towards or nearing completion of a relevant PhD qualification. The title of Research Fellow will be applied upon successful completion of the PhD. Prior to the qualification being awarded the title of Senior Research Assistant will be given.
This post is part time 10.5 hours per week and for a fixed term contract until 31/03/2026
