The School of Psychology:

The Lecturer in Psychology job role sits in the School of Psychology which has grown significantly over the last few years, and our journey continues. Our academic team has a diverse range of experiences from working in academia, as practitioners and working in industry. The focus for our Lecturers in Psychology is on developing students in both discipline knowledge and applied skills to make them employer-ready when they graduate from us.

About the Opportunity:

This role of Lecturer in Psychology will be teaching on the Post Graduate Certificate in Neurodiversity, specifically the criminal justice module.  You will:

  • Deliver engaging and dynamic lectures for distance learning students
  • Take on module leadership, ensuring consistent quality and development of learning materials and schemes of work.
  • Oversee assessment marking, create authentic assessments, and provide high-quality feedback.
  • Lead or support the creation of new programmes and refresh existing ones to align with industry trends and employer requirements.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to provide academic advice and support to students.
  • Drive innovation in teaching methods, student support, and assessment

About You:

To be successful as a Lecturer in Psychology (Neurodiversity) you must have:

  • MSc or equivalent formal qualification in Psychology, and be recognised by the BPS as having Graduate Basis for Chartership.
  • Expertise in Neurodiversity.
  • Knowledge and/or practical experience in the Criminal Justice System is advantageous.
  • AdvanceHE Recognition - FHEA or willing to achieve within 12-18 months.
  • You will be experienced in current and effective teaching, learning and assessment practices in Higher Education, and be able to bring your knowledge and understanding to Arden to grow our programmes and provide excellent student outcomes.
  • You will be able to evidence your successful experience of working in programme teams and of being a creative and inspiring lecturer and colleague.
