The University of Manchester invites applications for this post as part of the National Institute of Health Research Trainees Coordinating Centre programme of Integrated Academic Training.
As part of our commitment to a long-term strategy for increasing clinical research capacity within Dentistry, NIHR Integrated Academic Training posts have been created in the Division of Dentistry. The primary focus of this post is to make a significant contribution to our research programmes.
Applications are invited from outstanding and ambitious clinical dental researchers to join one of our highly successful research teams. The successful applicants will have the necessary qualities to be a clinical leader in Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology and to have a clear passion for, and demonstrable leadership potential in, dental research.
The post is offered at ST4 level, and applicants should already hold an NTN and have completed ST3 by the time of taking up post. Applications will only be accepted from candidates only if they already have a PhD or have submitted their PhD thesis at the time of application. Successful candidates who have submitted their thesis may only take up their post if their PhD has been fully awarded before the 31st March 2024 deadline.
The educational monitoring of this post will be undertaken by the Dental Deanery of NHS England Workforce, Training and Education North West, and the successful candidate will undergo specialist training in Oral Medicine and an Annual Review of Competence Progression (ARCP). Full registration with the General Dental Council is an essential requirement and the successful candidate will also be expected to contribute to the School’s teaching programmes.
