The Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology & Neuroscience (IoPPN) is a Faculty of King's College London and the largest academic community in Europe devoted to the study and prevention of mental illness and brain disease.

The School of Mental Health & Psychological Sciences (MHaPS) is one of three schools under the IoPPN, comprised of the four departments of Psychology; Social, Genetic & Developmental Psychiatry (SGDP); Health Service & Population Research; and Biostatistics & Health Informatics. With over 100 Principal Investigators, our research spans development from childhood to old age, encompassing basic research through to the development and implementation of treatments, services and policy.

To be successful in this role, we are looking for candidates to have the following skills and experience:

Essential criteria

  1. Previous experience of working in a research laboratory and/or HEI environment
  2. Knowledge of working with Risk Assessment and safe systems of work
  3. Experience in the writing, assessment and development of health and safety documentation Good oral and written communication skills
  4. Excellent organisational, communication, interpersonal and administrative skills
  5. Excellent time management skills with ability to work to deadlines.
  6. Experience in stock control and management
  7. Experience in health and safety inspections and auditing
  8. Good oral and written communication skills and experience in using relevant IT systems

Desirable criteria

  1. Trained to IOSH/NEBOSH level.
  2. Knowledge of molecular biology and molecular genetics
  3. Previous line management experience
  4. A relevant degree or equivalent qualification (eg biology)
