The Opportunity:

This Research Associate position will contribute to the project “Optical Functional Imaging For Metabolic Cell Model Engineering and Profiling” within the Institute of Micro and Nano Systems at the University of Edinburgh, which is funded by Wellcome Trust and in collaboration with colleagues at School of Cancer and Pharmaceutical Sciences, King’s College London.

This role is UE07 and is available on a fixed term basis until 31st March 2026.

Your skills and attributes for success:

  • Knowledge of microscopy image and data processing techniques
  • Optical system development for time resolved fluorescence imaging 
  • Hardware interfacing and PCB design for cameras
  • Software tools for data acquisition and image processing e.g. Labview and Matlab
  • Experience in FPGA programming in hardware description languages
